Tencent releases open-source Hy-Memory-30B-A3B memory-writing model
Tencent
Tencent's Hunyuan team open-sourced Hy-Memory-30B-A3B (30B total, ~3B active), a specialized long-term-memory writer meant to replace general LLMs on the write path of memory frameworks like Mem0, MemOS and Hy-Memory. Trained via memory on-policy distillation plus attributed memory RL, it posts a 55.49 macro-average across four harnesses, edging Claude Opus 5 (54.62) and DeepSeek V4.1 Flash (53.64), and transfers to the held-out EverMemOS framework. Technical report arXiv 2610.22196; weights under Apache-2.0.
Why it matters
First purpose-built open model for the memory-writing bottleneck in agent memory systems, beating much larger frontier LLMs on that narrow task.
