ByteDance ships Seedance 2.5 4K for film production, invite-only to 20 studios
ByteDance
Volcano Engine released Seedance 2.5 4K on October 23, 2026 with 10-bit colour, a 480p draft mode for storyboarding before final renders, and improved reference and edit consistency. Access is limited to a first batch of 20 film and TV studios and directors, with API timing and pricing unannounced.
Why it matters
It sets the resolution bar for AI video while keeping the model behind an enterprise waitlist, so the practical gap to open models widens on quality but not on access.
