OpenAI models arrive on Google Cloud Model Garden

On October 21, 2026 Google Cloud opened a private preview of GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol and GPT-6 Luna in its Model Garden, transacted through Google Cloud Marketplace with usage drawing down existing commitments and counting toward Flexible Savings Plans. Codex CLI and desktop workflows can connect to the Gemini platform for inference, with Gemini for business and Google Antigravity to follow; Microsoft remains OpenAI's primary cloud partner.
Why it matters
OpenAI now sells through all three major US clouds, and Google becomes the only hyperscaler carrying Gemini, Claude and GPT.
