HKU benchmark ranks Seedance 2.0 Pro first on video quality, Hailuo 2.3 first on safety

HKU Business School's AI Evaluation Lab published a study of 12 generative video models on Oct 26, scoring generation across visual continuity, physical plausibility, aesthetics, instruction alignment, audio quality and audio-visual matching. ByteDance Seedance 2.0 Pro took first overall at 3.84/5 (Veo 3.1 3.47, Sora 2 Pro 3.27) and led the audio sub-score at 3.86, while MiniMax Hailuo 2.3 won safety at 3.63 with Seedance only sixth at 3.12. Most models scored worse when a reference image was added to the prompt, with Wan 2.6 falling from 3.41 to 2.75.
