Google Research reports MedGemma TB screening running at about 40 facilities

Google Research detailed a tuberculosis screening deployment built on the open HAI-DEF models MedGemma and MedSigLIP plus the HeAR audio model, where 90-plus clinicians reviewed more than 25,000 chest X-rays and cut result turnaround from weeks to under 45 seconds. The partner system holds CE MDR Class IIb certification and runs in South Africa, Sierra Leone and Côte d'Ivoire, with expansion planned in the DRC, Zambia, Cameroon and Indonesia's national programme; MedGemma has passed 10 million downloads.
