Moonshot quantifies the cyber capability it deliberately removed from Kimi K3.1 Pro
Moonshot AI
Moonshot says it stripped cyber-related data from both training stages and from its RL environments before shipping Kimi K3.1 Pro, leaving the model at 81.0% on its internal vulnerability-discovery-and-exploitation benchmark against 90.5% for an otherwise identical checkpoint, versus 33.3% for K3 on the same test. It calls the gap 'by design, below what our pipeline can produce' and still promises full weights by November 4.
Why it matters
First Chinese open-weight lab to ship a frontier model with offensive cyber ability deliberately capped and to publish the size of the cut.
Importance: 3/5
Concrete published measurement of an intentional safety-driven capability cut.
